Your career in recruitment could look like this:

Stage 1

Year 1: Trainee Consultant

Salary: £23-30k

Commission: £10-20k

This is the toughest year. Learn your market, build your network, make as many placements as you can.

Stage 2

Year 2: Consultant

Salary: £26-35k

Commission: £15-30k

Use your momentum to generate more income. Take ownership of your pipeline and expand your client base.

Stage 3

Year 3: Senior Consultant

Salary: £35-40k

Commission: £30-50k

You are flying, well-known and respected in your company and sector; this is when you can push the boat out and bill big!

Stage 4

Year 4-5: Principal Consultant/Manager

Total Earnings: £60-80k

Develop your own area of business within the company. Build a small team of consultants to work underneath you.

Stage 5

Year 5+: Path towards Directorship

Total Earnings: £100k+

Master the wearing of many hats! Maintain your performance, manage your team and work on large new business deals and strategic projects in the business.

Stage 6

Director / Partner

Total Earnings: £120k+

By this stage you are very secure within your market, your industry knowledge and network will be extensive. Navigate market challenges and guide your team with a wealth of expertise.
